What you'll do

Discover the flavors and charm of Old Quebec City on a guided walking food tour that blends culinary indulgence with local culture and history. Over the course of three hours, you'll visit five handpicked tasting locations that capture the essence of Quebec’s diverse food scene. From cozy, rustic spots evoking sugar-shack traditions to elegant bistros and artisanal bakeries, each stop offers a generous sample of classic Québécois comfort food with a gourmet twist. Expect bites like rich pea soup, tender brisket with gravy, maple-infused treats, flaky croissants, and other regional specialties—all coming together to form a satisfying lunch.

But this tour is more than just a feast. Between tastings, you’ll wind through cobblestone streets and hidden alleys as your guide shares stories, secrets, and surprising facts about Quebec’s 400-year history. You'll pass by landmarks like the Dufferin Terrace overlooking the St. Lawrence River, a historic monastery, a whimsical Swiss clock, and even the smallest house in North America. Whether you’re a food lover, a history buff, or simply curious, this tour offers an unforgettable, full-sensory experience of one of Canada’s most enchanting cities.

SEE ITINERARY

Your journey begins in the heart of Old Quebec with a refined appetizer pairing that showcases the region’s wild ingredients—earthy local mushrooms and a delicate duck breast carpaccio that nods to the city’s deep French roots.
After a short stroll through centuries-old streets, you’ll warm up with a comforting trio of traditional Québécois staples: a silky pea soup, savory pâté chinois, and chewy maple taffy pulled fresh for you, just like at the cabane à sucre.
Next, you’ll be welcomed into a cozy 200-year-old home for a hearty bistro-style main: slow-cooked brisket with mashed potatoes, root vegetables, and rich gravy. Adults can enjoy a local wine chosen to match the flavors.
As we continue through the old town’s charming alleys, prepare for a sweet stop featuring a melt-in-your-mouth “sucre à la crème” and a bite of what many call the best croissant in Quebec City.
Finally, no tour would be complete without Quebec’s most iconic dish—poutine! But this isn’t just any version: it’s served with a creative twist and, for adults, paired with a splash of artisanal local gin.
