<p>On our Secret Food Tour: Toronto, you’ll explore two of the city's most iconic and authentic neighborhoods - St. Lawrence and the Distillery District. Lose yourself in the storied halls of the St. Lawrence Market, a must-visit destination for foodies that was established in 1803 and is one of the city's oldest landmarks. Here, you will taste some of Toronto's best culinary offerings and immerse yourself in the local food culture.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>From there, you’ll venture onto the Distillery District, a pedestrian-only area that boasts charming cobblestone streets and beautiful Victorian-era buildings. This district was once the largest distillery in the world and has since been transformed into a hub for arts, culture, and entertainment.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>After the tour, you'll have had the opportunity to explore local galleries, boutiques, and artisan shops, as well as sample some of Toronto's finest local delicacies. Get ready to discover the hidden treasures that make Toronto a foodie and culture lover's paradise.</p>

Our journey starts at the St. Lawrence Market, Toronto’s historic marketplace dating back over 200 years.

First up, we’ll visit a local fish market where you’ll sample wild-caught sockeye salmon cured in Canadian maple syrup.

Then we'll visit a pub known for making one of the best versions of the "peameal bacon sandwich", also known as Canadian bacon.

Next, you'll indulge in a popular no-bake dessert whose origin is shrouded in mystery.

After leaving the market, you'll unearth an Indian-inspired dish that has taken Toronto by surprise and is now a staple of the city's street food scene.

And for a great end, you'll devour the mouth-watering goodness of a classic Canadian pastry, the famous Butter Tart.

As with all our tours, there is also our delicious Secret Dish.

What you'll taste

<p style="text-align:justify;">As Toronto's oldest market, the St. Lawrence Market's property has had a market as early as 1803. The building itself has many of its original structures still in place from 1845. We chose this spot as our main focal point on our tour because it still remains a place for history, culture and is a part of Toronto's identity.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The area that was built around this market is reflective of how old and new can coexist in cuisine, architecture and history. This is the best place to discover some of Toronto's finest cuisine at the same time as learn more about the city's fascinating history!</p>
